AM32 ESC Settings
This page lists all available settings for AM32-based electronic speed controllers. Settings are organized into groups that appear in the Configurator when an AM32 ESC is connected.
For general information about changing, saving, exporting, and resetting settings, see ESC Settings.
Essentials
Core protocol and calibration options:
- ESC Protocol — Select the input signal protocol (Auto, DShot, Servo, Serial, EDT ARM, or DroneCAN).
- Disable Stick Calibration — Prevent automatic throttle calibration on startup.
Motor
Motor behavior and performance tuning:
- Auto Advance — Automatically adjust timing advance based on RPM.
- Timing Advance — Manual timing offset in degrees (disabled when Auto Advance is on).
- PWM Drive Mode — Fixed, Variable, or By RPM.
- PWM Frequency — Drive frequency in kHz.
- Reverse Rotation Direction — Reverse the motor spin direction.
- 3D Mode — Enable bidirectional motor control.
- Complementary PWM — Toggle complementary PWM output.
- Stuck Rotor Protection — Detect and protect against a stuck motor.
- Stall Protection — Detect and protect against motor stalling.
- Startup Power — Initial power applied during motor startup.
- Motor KV — Motor velocity constant rating.
- Motor Poles — Number of magnetic poles.
- Beep Volume — Startup and status beep volume level.
Extended Settings
Additional tuning parameters:
- Ramp Rate — How quickly the ESC ramps up duty cycle.
- Minimum Duty Cycle — The lowest duty cycle the ESC will output.
Voltage Limits
Undervoltage protection settings:
- Undervoltage Cutoff — Protection mode: Off, Cell Based, or Absolute.
- Undervoltage Threshold — Voltage level that triggers cutoff (when using Cell Based mode).
- Absolute Voltage Cutoff — Fixed voltage cutoff value (when using Absolute mode).
Temperature Control
Thermal protection:
- Temperature Limit — Maximum allowed temperature before the ESC reduces power. Can be disabled.
Current Control
Current limiting and PID tuning:
- Current Limit — Maximum current draw in amps. Can be disabled.
- Current P / I / D — PID coefficients for current control response.
Sinusoidal Startup
Smooth startup mode for specific applications:
- Sinusoidal Startup — Enable sine-wave commutation during startup.
- Sine Mode Power — Power level during sinusoidal startup.
- Sine Mode Range — RPM range for sinusoidal commutation.
Brake
Braking behavior:
- Brake on Stop — Braking mode: Off, Brake on Stop, or Active Brake.
- Brake Strength — Braking force level.
- Running Brake Level — Brake force applied while the motor is spinning.
- Active Brake Power — Power level for active braking mode.
- RC Car Reverse Brake — Enable reverse braking behavior for RC car applications.
Servo
Servo signal calibration (when using Servo protocol):
- Servo Low Threshold — Minimum pulse width in microseconds.
- Servo High Threshold — Maximum pulse width in microseconds.
- Servo Neutral — Center/neutral pulse width.
- Servo Dead Band — Range around neutral that produces no output.
